Regulation and check of a tension of a belt of the cooling fan

Disconnect a negative cable from the accumulator before to check and regulate a belt tension.

For engines G16

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Check up a belt on presence of cracks, cuts, deformations, deterioration and cleanliness. If what not so, replace a belt. Check up a belt tension. The belt tension is considered correct when it caves in according to following technical requirements under the pressure of a thumb (about 10 kg or 22 pounds). A tension of a belt of the cooling fan (for models of engines G16) "and": 5 – 7 mm (0.20 – 0.28 inches) sag under the pressure of 10 kg (22 pounds).

At replacement of a belt on new adjust a tension of a belt to 5 – 6 mm (0.20 – 0.24 inches) (engine G16).

Engine G16

1 — 10 kg (22 pounds)
2 — an adjusting bolt

    If a belt will pull too poorly or too strongly, adjust its tension, having displaced generator position.
    Twirl an adjusting bolt and шарнирный a generator bolt. Connect a negative cable (-) to the accumulator.

For engines J20

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Examine a belt about cracks, cuts, deformations, deterioration and cleanliness. If what not so, replace a belt. Check up a belt tension. The belt tension is considered normal when it sags according to following technical requirements under the pressure of a thumb (about 10 kg or 22 pounds). A tension of a belt of the cooling fan (for engines of model J20) "and": sags on 5 – 7 mm (0.20 – 0.27 inches) under weight/10 of kg (22 pounds).

At replacement of a belt on new, adjust a tension of a belt to 4 – 5 mm (0.16 – 0.20 inches).

Engine J20

    If a belt will pull too hardly or too poorly, adjust it as follows:
      Ослабьте an adjusting bolt (1) and шарнирный a bolt (2).
      Twirl an adjusting bolt (1), keeping at this time a fan belt in a corresponding tension, twisting высоконапряженный a bolt with the control of loading (3) wrench. Fasten an adjusting bolt (1) and шарнирный a bolt (2) with the specified rotating moment.
    The rotating moment of an inhaling:
      Adjusting bolt of a pulley of the cooling fan (for engine J20) (): 45 Н•м (4.5 kg th, 32.5 pound on foot) шарнирный a bolt of a pulley of the cooling fan (for engine J20) (b): 45 Н•м (4.5 kg th, 32.5 pound on foot)
